Information Security

Information security for growing businesses and web products

Most breaches at small and growing companies are not sophisticated. They come from a leaked API key, an admin panel without rate limiting, an outdated plugin or a storage bucket left public. These are cheap to find and cheap to fix — if someone looks.

We review your websites, web apps and cloud setup the way an attacker would, then give you a plain-language report and help fix what we find. Privacy is built into how we work: our own GenRise Tools process files in the browser and never upload them.

Problems we solve

Is this you? Signs you need information security

  • You store customer data and are not sure it is properly protected.
  • A client or enterprise customer has sent you a security questionnaire.
  • Your app was built quickly and nobody has reviewed it for security.
  • Too many people have admin access to too many systems.
  • You have no tested backup or recovery plan.

FAQ

Information Security — frequently asked questions

Is a security audit the same as a penetration test?

Our audits combine configuration review, code review and targeted testing of your application. For formal penetration-test certificates required by some regulators, we can prepare you and work alongside an accredited tester.

Will testing disrupt my live website?

No. We agree the scope and test window in advance, avoid destructive tests on production and can test against a staging environment.

Do you fix the issues you find?

Yes. Every finding includes a recommended fix, and we can implement the fixes for you or support your team while they do.

Can you help with GDPR compliance?

We help with the technical side — data minimisation, encryption, access control, retention and audit logging. We are not a law firm, so legal advice should come from your counsel.

How often should we have a security review?

At least once a year and after any major release or infrastructure change.
