A freelance web developer community where your shipped work does the talking
Plenty of brilliant web developers never get a fair look. They have no famous employer on the CV, no five-star marketplace history and no one to vouch for them, so the work goes to whoever is already known.
GenRise flips that. You build real features for live products such as GenRise Tools, a lead reviews your code and your name goes on what you ship. When a client needs a web developer with exactly your strengths, you're the one we call.

FAQ
Web developers: FAQs
Do I need professional experience to join?
No. We look at what you can build, not where you've worked. Students, self-taught developers and career-switchers are all welcome.
How do I get my first paid project?
Contribute to our open-source products first. Once your work shows the skills a client project needs, you co-work on it with a lead beside you, and that project is paid. Joining and open-source work are unpaid.
I'm a business. Can I work with your web developers?
Yes. Tell us about the project. We'll build a team from developers who have already proven themselves on our products, led and reviewed by our core team.
Good at this? Show us. We'll make sure it's seen.
Tell us what you're good at and share a link to your work, or just pick a good first issue and open a pull request. Every one gets reviewed.
