GenRise community

Skill deserves a stage. We build it for unrecognised talent.

GenRise is a freelance community for developers, designers and marketers who are good at what they do but haven't been noticed yet. They have no big-name CV, no network and no five-star history.

You prove your skill on real products used by real people. We put your name on it, and when the right client project comes along, we bring you onto it as a paid freelancer with a lead beside you.

Talent is everywhere. Recognition isn't.

The best developer you've never heard of might be in a small town, a college hostel or a job that never used their skills.

Marketplaces reward people who already have reviews. CVs reward people who already had the chance. Neither sees the work.

So we built a place where the work comes first: shipped, reviewed, credited and put in front of the right client at the right time.

How it works

The spotlight path

Five steps from your first hello to a paid project. You can start step two today.

  1. 01

    Join

Say hello and tell us what you're good at. No CV filter, no degree check, no fee.

  2. 02

    Build in the open

Pick an issue on GenRise Tools or our other products and ship real work that real people use.

  3. 03

    Get reviewed

A lead reviews every pull request and design, with honest feedback that helps you level up.

  4. 04

    Get spotlighted

Your name goes on what you built, both on the project and on our website.

  5. 05

    Take the stage

When a client project needs the skills you've proven, you co-work on it with the core team and are paid for that project.

Matching

The right time and the right place.

We don't throw you at random gigs. A member joins a client project when three things line up:

  • ProofWhat you've shipped and how it held up in review. We look at evidence, not keywords on a CV.
  • FitThe project's stack, type and size, matched to the skills you've already shown on live products.
  • TimingYour availability and the client's time zone, so you're brought in when you can shine, not when you're stretched.

What counts

Proof, not CVs.

These are the things we look at. Even a small one, done well and reviewed, says more than a list of buzzwords.

  • A merged pull request on a live product
  • A tool you shipped that people use
  • A speed fix with before-and-after numbers
  • A redesigned screen that tested better
  • A guide or translation that helps people
  • An SEO or content experiment, written up honestly

FAQ

Community FAQs

What is the GenRise community?

A freelance community for developers, designers and marketers whose skills haven't been recognised yet. Members prove their skills on real open-source products, get credited for their work and are brought onto paid client projects when their skills fit.

Who can join?

Anyone with skills to show and the will to ship. That includes students, self-taught developers, career-switchers and experienced freelancers who are tired of bidding wars. What counts is your work, not your CV.

Is GenRise a freelancing company or a marketplace?

Neither, exactly. We aren't a marketplace where you bid against thousands, and we aren't a staffing agency. We're a community with a core team: we see your work, vouch for it and bring you onto projects with a lead beside you.

How do I get paid work?

Build and ship on our open products first. When a client project needs skills you've already proven, we offer you a place on it as a paid freelancer.

How do I join?

Message us on WhatsApp or email shriram0783@gmail.com with what you're good at and a link to your work or GitHub. Or just pick a good first issue on GitHub and open a pull request.

I'm a business. Can I work with community talent?

Yes. Every client project is led by our core team and staffed with members who have already proven themselves on our products. You get one contract and reviewed work.

Your work deserves to be seen. Let's put it on stage.
